A warm welcome to my website – I’m Sarah!

I am an experienced clinician, specialising as a Senior Psychological Therapist in the NHS, as well managing my own private practice.

During the 11+ years that I have worked in the health sector, I developed an interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and following training, became accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy in 2021 (Membership No. 1003741). More recently, I trained in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and became an accredited member of IPT UK in 2025 (Membership No. 2021322). I have also undertaken training in Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Specialist interests and focus includes:

– Treatment of depression

– Management of chronic pain

– Long-term conditions and medically unexplained symptoms

– Supporting the cognitive and emotional needs of older adults

Much earlier in my working life, I had a career in Human Resources in both the public and private sectors.

Continuous professional development is of course a requirement of my accreditation and I enjoy regularly attending teaching and workshops to enhance my practice. I regularly attend professional supervision to ensure that your therapy is of the highest standard.

I offer a safe, confidential space for you to talk about your difficulties, using a person-centred approach that honours you and your unique needs. Colleagues and clients highlight that warmth and empathy are my particularly strong skills.

CBT is a time-sensitive and structured therapy, which aims to help you develop skills and strategies to maintain progress after therapy finishes. Sessions last up to 50 minutes and treatment generally lasts between 6-20 sessions. However, therapy is tailor-made to you as an individual in its approach, as well as the required duration, for a successful completion. Therapists do not provide direct solutions, therefore the focus of our sessions will be to work together to support you to feel better – as quickly as possible – by testing out ideas and approaches that fit your needs and work for you.

I offer therapy sessions via Microsoft Teams (or phone) from the comfort of your home, or in-person at Bell Street Rooms, at the heart of Romsey town centre.

Bell Street Rooms

I am available for in-person sessions at Bell Street Rooms, Romsey, all day on Thursdays, although other times can be arranged on request. Sessions by video or phone can be arranged at other times on request.
