A Heartfelt Hello!

I am excited to share with you that I have started private practice as a psychological therapist, offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other evidence-based therapies to support people’s mental health and to help them thrive.

As an employee of the NHS, I highly value supporting our local population and will continue to appreciate this work. My venture into private practice stems from an aspiration to work more creatively with individuals who feel led to work with me, and to enhance my balance between work and home. I hope too that I may contribute to freeing up vital NHS space for people who do not have a choice to pay for therapy.

I provide a warm, non-judgemental space for individuals to safely explore their difficulties. Therapy is always tailored to fit the unique needs of individuals and to support them to become the best version of themselves. In my NHS work and in private practice, my aim is to offer hope that old patterns of thinking and behaviour can be changed and to provide opportunity for individuals to have renewed understanding of themselves.

I have been well supported in my professional journey and so it feels important to recognise mentors and colleagues who helped me on my way. The Clinical Psychology Department at Salisbury Hospital were fundamentally important in offering me opportunities for development and nurturing my skills as a clinician: I am endlessly grateful for their support, and for those who have become valued friends. I am so thankful for the continued support and fellowship of my colleagues at NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire – especially those who shared the intense journey of training during Covid-19. More recently, I have been blessed by the knowledge and kindness of a few people who supported me in getting my practice started: A big thank you to Nicky at Harper Design Studio | Graphic Design, Carolyn at combined cloud accounting and Andy at Great Well-Being Therapy Centre | Therapy | Romsey (great-well-beingtherapycentre.co.uk) – I look forward to continuing our connections!

I will be pleased to hear from anyone who feels inspired to reach out and to connect with anyone who finds themselves on a similar journey!

With gratitude, Sarah
